Double Feature - The Photo Album

I remember the moment well. It was 6:00 Saturday evening, and I was just leaving Academy One, having finished with the preparations for the banquet. I came out into the hall and was stunned by what I saw. Instead of technicians with their heads buried inside the bellies of pianos and talented pianists caught up in a cacophony of musical passion, I saw pianos, once vibrant and alive, now lying silently on their sides dismantled by an army of piano movers. I hurried to the long hall, only to see more of the same. Inside the gold-draped tool room, there were only empty tables, bubble wrap and cardboard boxes.

What, for one brief moment, had been the most innovative display of tools, the most extraordinary collection of musical instruments and the greatest assemblage of piano technical talent, knowledge and ability was …gone, transformed in the blink of an eye from the living present to the memorable past.

So, here then is a record of the “Brigadoon” that was the 2006 California State PTG Conference, Burbank, California February 9-12, 2006. We hope you enjoy it again and again.
